Star Trek, Best Old TV Show (1966-1969)

What is my Favorite TV Show?

It is hard to pick my favorite TV show, but one of the most I watch is the original Star Trek, created by Gene Roddenberry. It is older form the nineteen-sixties, the special effects have shown their age but it has a strong plot in almost every episode. My favorite characters are Spock (Leonard Nimoy), Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner), and last but not least, Dr. Mcoy (Deforest Kelley). The interactions between these characters are highly realistic, the constant bickering between the Dr and Spock is funny and enjoyable to watch. Spock doesn't derive off emotions but logic, though he is half-human which does show as in the fight between Kirk and Spock in "Amok Time" where Kirk is supposedly killed by Spock and he is obliged to turn himself in without any defense. Though Kirk is alive and Spock shows happiness when he finds out Kirk is alive but quickly tries to elaborate himself.
You can't discuss Star Trek without talking about its fight sequences, Kirk is usually the one throwing the fists, he even fights a lizard called a Gorn. The Gorn is a guy in a rubber suit and Kirk throws Karate chops at the lizard, which prove uneffective, the episode is "Arena". The series reception was bad at first, lasting only three seasons, but in the early seventies they made an animated series, and later on made countless movies, new TV shows, and plenty of merchandise. It even inspired Star Wars eleven years later in nineteen-seventy-seven which proves the shows legacy. Many aged shows don't get the reception of Star Trek decades later, but it is just a fantastic show that is very inspiring with memorable characters. The series has been remastered with the visual effects enhanced, similar to Star Wars, they aren't special edits that everyone hates, unlike Star Wars. In history class, Star Trek has some historical episodes including NAZIS and the Great Depression. If their is an old show that you want to watch, I suggest Star Trek.
